Dora's Story

Dora Sanitate, 96, of South Pymatuning Township, died of natural causes at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2, 2017, in the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Hartford, Ohio, to Julia (Dadasovich) Mitrovich and Peter Mitrovich, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the South Pymatuning Community Church.
She and her husband, Paul, were one of the founding families of South Pymatuning Fire Department, where she was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary and treasurer for 20 years. Dora also was a member of the South Pymatuning girls softball team and worked in the concession stand.
She and her husband were sellers at the flea market for 20 years and really enjoyed the friends they made during that time.
Dora loved gardening, baking (she won blue ribbons for her apple pies) and caring for her family, especially her great-grandson, Jackson. She loved her dog, Jane, and her cat, Gibbs.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Kline and her husband, Edward of Masury, Ohio, and Patricia Hatton and her husband, Richard, of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Alan Sanitate, of South Pymatuning Township; a brother, Frank Mitrovich and his wife, Gerda, of Hubbard, Ohio; her granchildren, Stephen and Craig Kristof, Allison and Paul Sanitate, Mallory Allen and Julia Hatton; and her great- grandchildren, Jackson Smith and Everett Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Sanitate, whom she married Aug. 23, 1940, and who passed away March 9, 2005; a daughter, Nancy Kristof; a son, Gary Paul Sanitate; three sisters, Millie Winkle, Sophie (Jane) Christian and Ann Barovich; and three brothers, Pete, Nick and Sam Mitrovich.
