Donald Edward Burnette Sr

If you knew my dad, you know that he was full of piss and vinegar. He treated everyone like a friend. He was the king of the country line dance floor. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a great friend and businessman.
My dad loved his family, his Fleischmann's Whiskey and beer, cigars, the NRA, his girlfriend June Siciliano. And he loved the one place in the world he felt free- Great Mountain Lake, Canada.
"To all my friends, and you know who you are, I wish you health, wealth and a good life. If you were not a part of my life while I was alive, it's not going to do you or me much good to see me laid out at a funeral home." - Don Burnette
There was no service or viewing per my dad's request.

Don was my best friend for many years. We loved dancing together and talking for hours. He taught me, “women are to be loved and taken care of”. When I was pregnant with my twins he took care of me. He was there to feel them kicking and the day I learned the boy twin, Dylan, died Don came to get me from the doctor’s office. He held me while I cried. He took care of my older 2 kids while I had the twins. He cooked for me on Sundays and brought us groceries. He came to my 50th birthday surprise party and as we hugged I told him no matter how much time passes that we don’t see one another, I will always love you. He was an incredible man who will be dearly missed. My sincere sympathies his family.Read more

I have many happy memories of Donnie. My Dad was very ill when I was a child. We spent a lot of time with Aunt Bea and Uncle Bud while my Mom was taking care of Dad. They were like our grandparents and Donnie was like my big brother. I remember catching frogs in the stream next to the house and going on hikes to Eagle Rock. To a six year old boy, Donnie was just the kind of person I needed at just the right time. Very sad to see him go.

We are neighbors of Don's it was nice to be neighbors & friends, He was a great person to know , He loved to talk, He and I ( Beverly) always took our good neighbor, food to eat when she lost her husband, then we lost our dear friend Pat. I think June made the food, and Don took the credit, (ha! ha!) my husband and Don were good friends too! we will miss Don a lot, with his hats and cigars, Love You Don, sadly missed.

What happened to your dad. I am an Insurance & Investment broker in Hermitage, PA. We talked many, many times on the phone, and met for lunch back in 2018. Don would brag how healthy he was, and how he danced up a storm with June, his girlfriend. Knowing he smoked cigars, drank his whiskey and beer, did not daze him, knowing the health consequences.
