Dolores Phillips Johnson
Dolores Phillips Johnson, 95, departed this life on Sept. 14, 2019, in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 17, 1923, in Sharon, the daughter of Daniel S. and Roxie B. Phillips.
She received her formal elementary and high school education in Sharon. She earned a bachelor's of education degree from Chicago Teachers College, a masters of art degree from Roosevelt University and pursued her post graduate studies at St. Xavier University.
She was an accomplished pianist who devoted her talents to the National Association of the Church of God. She served as the director for the Gifted Center program at Chicago State University and taught in the Chicago public school system for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Daniel H. and Marjorie Barbour of Chicago, Ill.; her brother, James L.Phillips, M.D., of Houston, Texas; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
