David William Ryland, 70, Hermitage, passed away at his residence at 5:08 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, after an extended illness.
Mr. Ryland was born in Troy, Pa., on June 11, 1947. He married Judith Furman Ryland on Sept. 2, 1967.
Mr. Ryland was an electrical engineer for Penn Power. He attended New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington. David was formerly active in the Jaycees in New Castle.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Ryland at home; two sons, Darren Ryland and his wife Karen, San Diego, Calif., and Russ Ryland and his wife Michelle, Mercer; four grandchildren, Emilia, Ella, Taylor and Kayla Ryland; a sister, Diane Williams, Dalton, N.Y.
Mr. Ryland was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Whitlock Packard.
