Daryl L. Paddock Sr., of South Pymatuning Township, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after being stricken at home earlier. He was 68.
He was born in Sharon, on May 15, 1949, to Robert and Norma Wagner Templeton.
He married Kathy Jo Hunter on Jan. 17, 1998. She survives at their home.
Daryl was of the Protestant faith.
He attended Reynolds schools. In 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served in Vietnam during the conflict. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He had attained the rank of Specialist 5 by his honorable discharge.
He was employed for 23 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell, where he was a millwright. He then was a truck driver for Roth Brothers Co. of Youngstown. For several years he was a self-employed locksmith.
Daryl was a member of the Disabled American Veterans; V.F.W Post 5286, Farrell, where he had served a term as the Post Commander; and Farrell American Legion Post 170. A 32nd Degree Mason he was a member of the Kedron F.&A.M. Lodge 389, West Middlesex.
Daryl enjoyed bowling and bowled with the VFW League in Farrell. He was a ham radio operator (DV95309).
Beside his wife Kathy Jo, he is survived by a son, Shawn Paddock and wife Stephanie of Greenville; three half brothers, Kenneth and wife Gail Wagner Jr. in Transfer, Randy and wife Ruth Wagner and Reed and his wife Marie Wagner; both of Greenville; three sisters, Cheryl and husband Walt Raniolo of Mercer, Andrea Anderson in Greenville and Debra and her husband William Harper in Hubbard; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral: Noon Friday (7-28-17) in the funeral home with Rev. C. Charles Eckles presiding.
Burial: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage, after the funeral with the combined Honor Guard of the Farrell V.F.W. and Wheatland American Legion providing military honors. a son Daryl L Paddock Jr., and a daughter Janeece Lynn Paddock.
