Darlene K. Dickson, 68, of Grove City, passed peacefully on Friday afternoon, March 9, 2018, in her home following a two-year illness.
She was born Nov. 30, 1949, in Franklin to Frederick E. and Nellie A. (Browski) DeLong.
Darlene married Ronald G. Dickson on Nov. 5, 1982.
She grew up in Grove City and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Darlene graduated from Grove City High School in 1967.
For many years Darlene owned and operated Dickson Copy Center on South Broad Street in Grove City, and later became an insurance agent for Humana Insurance Co. until her retirement in 2010.
Following retirement she enjoyed canning, cooking and loved spending her time caring for her family. She liked helping others and enjoyed making people laugh.
Darlene is survived by her husband Ron at home; five children, Kenneth Dickson, Colorado; Marcy Smith, Greenville; Scott Dickson, Farrell, and Melisa and Larry Gills, both of Grove City; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Kolsky and husband Walt, Fredonia.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hedglin; and three brothers, Ed Courson, Carl Courson and Frederick E. DeLong.
