Dan L. Moffett

Daniel L. "Dan" Moffett Sr., of Hermitage, passed away in UPMC Farrell from an extended illness at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2018. He was 53.
Daniel was born on July 2, 1965, in Huntingdon, Pa.
After graduating from Huntingdon High School in 1983, Dan went on to receive his bachelor's degree in Parks and Leisure Services from Lock Haven University in 1987.
He was employed at Lowe's in Hermitage as an assistant manager, then at Greenville Metals in Transfer.
Dan was a member of Lighthouse Outreach Ministries in Hermitage.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and coaching his children's sports events.
On April 16, 1988, he married Christine (Taylor) Moffett, who survives at home. Also surviving are a daughter, Annalise Moffett of Hermitage; sons, Daniel Moffett Jr. of Boardman, Ohio, and Aaron Moffett of Hermitage; his mother and father-in-law, Gerry and Albert Tate of Hermitage; his parents, Judy and David Smithmyer of Alexandria, Pa.; two sisters, Eva Gerhart and her husband Matt of Centre Hall, Pa., and Beverly Norris of Huntingdon; and three brothers, Dan Smithmyer and his companion Angela, of New Ringgold, Pa., Matt Smithmyer and his wife Polly of Huntingdon, and Paul Smithmyer and his wife Alison of Huntingdon.
