Cynthia L. Rice Dawson of the Greenfield area of Pittsburgh, formerly of Grove City, passed away Friday morning (Feb. 9, 2018) in Riverside Care Center, McKeesport, following an extended illness. She was 60.
Cindy was born in Grove City to Charles Rice and Betty Lou Campbell Rice.
She married Richard Dawson on Aug. 29, 1981; he survives at home.
Cindy was raised in the Protestant faith in Tower Presbyterian Church.
She was a 1975 graduate of Grove City High School. She attended the University of Pittsburgh.
She was a homemaker and volunteered over the years with her children's schools, activities and sports program.
In addition to her husband she is survived by: two daughters, Christina Dawson-Mudd and husband Dale, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jessica Dawson of Pittsburgh; her parents, Thomas and Betty Sopher, Grove City; two sisters, Cheryl Rice and Floyd Green, Bluffton, Ohio, and Carol Cameron and husband Russell, New Bedford; and a half-brother, James Rice, of Arizona.
Her grandparents, father, Charles Rice, and an infant daughter, Rebecca Dawson, preceded Cindy in death.
