Clyde's Story

Clyde R. "Bob" Walter, 75, of (Pine Township) Grove City, passed away in Orchard Manor Saturday (July 22, 2017) with his family by his side.
He was born in Grove City on June 2, 1942, to Clyde O. and Edna M. (Rodgers) Walter.
He married Ruth Anne "Annie" Whitesell on July 29, 1961 - Saturday would have been their 56th anniversary.
After graduation, Bob enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany.
He worked for Cooper Bessemer and retired from Joy Manufacturing in 1993.
He was a past Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer in Mercer County and was a member of the Grove City Masonic Lodge 603 and New Castle Consistory. He was a Member and past Elder of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Anne; two daughters, Cheryl Lynne Karns and her husband Daniel, and Karen Annette Walter both of Grove City; three grandsons, Robert D. Karns and his wife Beth and Stephen M. Karns both New Castle, and Justin R. Minor, Stoneboro; a great-granddaughter, Lana Elizabeth Karns, New Castle; two brothers, William E. Walter, Grove City and Mark D. Walter, California; and two sisters, Carol A. Filer, Arkansas, and Kathy E. Tharp, Ohio.
His parents, an infant brother and his in-laws, John C. and Sylvia V. Whitesell, preceded him in death.

In accordance with Bob's wishes, there will be no visiting hours or service. The family is honoring his request. Evelyn Beebe of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church read scripture, gave her blessings and prayer with Bob and his family after his passing.
