Clarence William Austin Jr., 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Austin, known to his family and friends as "Fitch" or "Junior," was born May 20, 1935, in Farrell, a son of Clarence W. and Emma Eunice Lee Austin Sr.
He was a 1954 graduate of Farrell High School, and he worked at Austin and Sons Landscaping, a family-owned business. He retired from General American after 20 years of loyal service.
His wonderful smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: loving children, Curtis Austin, Brian (Michelle) Austin, Randy Austin, Pamela (Milton) Brown, and Karen Austin; his siblings, Paul Austin, Lawrence (Jawdy) Austin, Eugene Austin Sr., Marian Pope, Beverly Williams, and Willie Belle Cromartie, with whom he made his home; his adopted sister, Shona Cook; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends including Maceline Tanner.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, his siblings, Janett and Nancy Austin, James Austin, Rueben Austin Sr., and Hortense Woods; his former wife, Margaret Austin; his children, Jeremiah "Jerry" and Sheila Phillips; and his grandson, Brian Austin Jr.

Calling hours: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday (10-27-17) at Valley Baptist Church, Farrell.
Service: Homegoing celebration at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Pastor T. James Harrison as officiant. Rev. Dr. Eugene Austin Jr. will deliver the eulogy.
Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
