Charles R. Vestal, 79, of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at home with his loving family by his side.
Charles was born March 1, 1938, in Youngs-town, Ohio, a son of Norman J. and Nila M Schaeffer Vestal.
He was a 1956 graduate of Chan-ey High School and attended The Chicago Technical Institute of Carpentry.
He was the owner and operator of Vestal Construction, a member of the Carpenters Union and later worked at Youngs-town Steel Door for 19 years before retiring in 1999.
Charles was a 67-year member of Four Mile Run Christian Church in Austintown, Ohio, and a member of the National Guard and Hubbard VFW Post 3767.
Charles enjoyed bowling, fishing on his pontoon boat, woodworking, camping with his children and grandchildren and was also a Lionel train collector and enthusiast.
He will be sadly missed by his family; his wife, the former Shirley A. Nicholson, whom he married Nov 4, 1961; his children, Dennis C. (Cynthia) Vestal, of Hubbard, Ohio; Daniel J. (Paula) Vestal, of Reynolds; Charles J. (Maryannette) Vestal; Alan W. (Kimberly) Vestal; son-in-law Ronald Antoun, all of Hubbard, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ethel Sheesley, of Thonotosassa, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy L. Antoun; his grandson, Denny R. Vestal; his brother, Norman R. Vestal; and his sister, Evelyn Vestal.

Calling hours: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (2-12-18) at STEWART-KYLE FUNERAL HOME, 407 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday (2-13-18) at Four Mile Run Christian Church in Austintown, Ohio.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial: Four Mile Run Cemetery.
