Cecil M. "Charlie" Bevan, also known as "JC Fatz," 84, of Jackson Center, passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at UPMC Presbyterian.
Charlie was born on Aug. 20, 1933, in Media to the late Cecil Allan and Mabel Mayetta Miles Bevan.
Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Navy, joining in April of 1952 and being honorably discharged in April 1956. During his time in the Navy, Charlie spent three years and six months on the Destroyer USS Putnam DD-757. He worked for GE from 1956 until he retired in 1983.
Charlie married his beloved wife, Sondra S. Hubenthal, in March 1968. She preceded him in death after a short illness on May 26, 2014, having shared more than 46 years together.
Charlie was an avid pool player since he was 15 years old. He played in several leagues for more than 20-some years, which coined his name "JC Fatz." He was an animal lover, especially for his cat and his dog, also named Charlie.
Charlie is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Blair of Grove City and Barbara Bevan of Milton; one son, Jeffrey A. (Robin) Bevan of Stoneboro; four grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
In addition his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Davies.
