Carolyn "Grandma Mimi" Garrett, 94, of Mercer, went to eternal rest on Sept. 10, 2017, surrounded by family members.
Carolyn was born July 22, 1923, in Pittsburgh to Anthony and Mary (Dudkowska) Wisniowski. She was the last surviving sibling.
She grew up in the Masury and Brookfield, Ohio, area and attended Stevenson School. She worked at the 7UP bottling plant and then during World War II worked at the Malleable in Sharon.
She married Dalmer J. Garrett on Nov. 19, 1945, and became a homemaker.
Carolyn was a past member of the West Middlesex VFW and the Shenango Grange.
Carolyn enjoyed playing dominoes with her late husband. She enjoyed listening to talk radio and polka music. Carolyn loved to walk on her road and at Buhl Park where she also enjoyed the outdoor summer concerts. She loved her family and always enjoyed playing with the grandchildren over the years.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Thomas, and daughters, Marsha (Jake) Yoder and Joyce (David) Jackal. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and was the matriarch of a four-generation family.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Dalmer (on Dec. 22, 1998); son, Ronald (on June 14, 2017); sisters, Helen, Angeline, Julia, Anna and Catherine; and brothers, Mathew and Frank.
