Bertha Jane Ketler Jones, 93, of Masury, Ohio, and formerly of Springfield Township, Mercer County, passed away at The O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center in Masury on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017.
She was born in Brent (Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County) on June 30, 1924, to Perry O. Ketler and Mary Magdalene Seidel Ketler.
She married Howard Melvin Jones on June 30, 1944. In her earlier years, she had worked at the Penn Grove Hotel in Grove City, and after her marriage, she become a full-time homemaker.
Bertha enjoyed quilting, embroidering, crocheting, camping and doing word books. She was a member of The Alliance Church in Grove City.
In addition to her husband, at Masury, she is survived by three daughters, Darlene M. Stokes and Evelyn J. May (Harry) of Mercer and Judy A. Armstrong (Jeff) of Espyville; a son, Charles W. Jones (Darlene) of Mercer; nine grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Joseph and George; and two sisters, Thelma Urey and Dorothy Magee. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of O'Brien Memorial for the wonderful loving care received there.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (12-13-17) and from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday (12-14-17) at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.
Service: Funeral at 11 am. Thursday (12-14-17) at the funeral home.
Interment: Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township, Mercer County.
