Bernice L. King Vance, of Sharon, formerly Grove City, passed away in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. She was 98.
Bernice was born in Grove City on Sept. 22, 1918, to Harley L and Edna Mae (Gibson) Mason.
She married Robert Gaylord King, who preceded her in death. Later she married Samuel N. Vance, who also preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. Bernice was a graduate of Grove City High School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She his survived by her children, Robert King, Ellicott City, Md., David King, Columbus, Ohio, James Vance and wife Suzanne, North Liberty, Iowa, Marilyn Vance Goehl and husband Tom, North Carolina, and Samuel Vance and wife Amy, Eau Claire, Wis.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Richard, William and Ralph King; a grandson, William King; three sister; and three brothers.

Memorial service: 3 p.m. Friday (9-22-17) at St John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., Sharon, with Fr. Adam T. Trambley presiding.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City.
