Benjamin Leon Grande, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Sharon and West Middlesex, passed away on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017. He was 79.
Benjamin was born in Farrell on Sept. 18, 1937, to Saverio Bates Grande and Leona Jaussen Grande.
He graduated from Farrell High School in 1955.
He owned and operated the Middlesex Inn in West Middlesex before retiring in 2004.
Benjamin was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was the past president of the Mercer County Tavern Association, where he chaired the Golf Scramble event. He also volunteered as Santa for over 30 years in West Middlesex.
Benjamin was a member of the West Middlesex Kiwanis, the Sharon VFW, the Wheatland American Legion, past president of the Farrell Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Farrell Italian Home and the Pennsylvania Tavern Association. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three daughters: Betty Jo Alexander (John); Sandra Grande; Dale Mason; two sons: Michael Grande and Benjamin Grande all of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Leon Grande of Albion, Pa; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly; a brother, Anthony; two sisters: Elaine Clinger and Janice Mirage and his first wife, Beverly Tennant.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
