Anthony Joseph Erme Sr., 82, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Anthony was born on Aug. 12, 1935, in Sharpsville, to Michael and Mary (O'Brine) Erme. He graduated from Sharpsville High School, Class of 1953, and attended Slippery Rock University. Anthony worked, most recently, as a delivery driver for Hovis Supply. In 1951, he married his wife, Mary (Dehner) Erme, who survives at home.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in Sharpsville. Anthony enjoyed golfing and was an avid supporter of Notre Dame athletics and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Debbie (James) Cotter Sr., Cindy (William) Caputo, Laurie (Charlie) Bowser and Linda (Ralph) Thomas; sons, Anthony J. Erme Jr. and James M (Yulia) Erme Sr.; and 14 grandchildren, Marc, Tiffany, Jimmy, Lonnie, Patrick, Jennifer, William, Nathan, Jeanette, Jim, Josephina, Ian, Heather and Quinn. He is known affectionately as "Papa-T" to his 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Erme; mother, Mary Erme; sister, Jean; and brothers, Mike, Bill and Frank.
