Ann Schmid, 72, Mercer, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2017, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
Mrs. Schmid was born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 18, 1945, to Martin and Beatrice Rodgers.
Ann met her true love during her senior year at Wheaton High School. Ann married Henri "Hank" Schmid on Oct. 16, 1965, in Illinois and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. They have two children, Doug and Jamie.
Ann retired in 2001, after 25 years, from the Mercer KOA Campground which was a family-owned and operated business.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, attending Red Hatters (Magnificent Mavens of Mercer) activities, playing Bunco with friends, and spending time with family and at the beach in Ocean City, Md.
She dearly loved her grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Addison, and Landon. They spent much time together, whether it was babysitting, attending the kids' activities, special trips together, or on vacation.
Ann is survived by her spouse Hank, of Mercer, sons Doug (Carrie), Mercer; and Jamie (Michele), Edinburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Jake, Hannah, Addison, and Landon, and her brother, John Rodgers (Illinois).
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (1-3-18) and 10 a.m. to time of service Thursday (1-4-18) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Adam Rodgers of Stoneboro Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial: Mercer Citizens Cemetery, Mercer.
