Alfonso James Jr., known to his family and friends as "Rudy," passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2018, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Alfonso was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Farrell, a son of Alfonso and Azalie"Trudy" Pope James.
He was a 1948 graduate of Farrell High School, and on Oct. 22, 1950, he married the former Almeda D. Williams.
He was a longtime employee of the former Sharon Steel Corp., retiring after 42 years of loyal service. He was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church of Farrell.
He will be deeply missed by his family and those who loved and adored him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife; his children, Marcie (Jamel) Kirby of Iowa, Monica (Stanley) Collins of Ohio, Pamela (Wesley) Prince of Pennsylvania, Alfonso (Sylvia) James of Louisiana, Sharon James of Pennsylvania and Cynthia (Michael) Henderson of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Edmund Ford; two sisters; four brothers; and his nephew, Wilford Flowers.

Calling hours: From 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday (4-18-18) at Second Missionary Baptist Church, Farrell. The family also will receive friends at 410 Hamilton Ave.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday (4-18-18) at the church, with the Rev. Russell V. Penn, pastor, officiating.
Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
