Albert Carl Sunday Jr., 88, of Jefferson Township, died at 4:43 p.m. Friday (Dec. 1, 2017) after being under hospice care for six months.
Though in a battle for many years against many medical odds, Al trusted Our Lord humbly and without complaint as he lived with hope. His example of "strength in weakness" and quiet wisdom will be remembered by all. He battled polycythemia vera since 1983.

A Korean War Veteran, he served as a staff sergeant in the communications division of the 28th Division in Camp Atterbury, Ind.
Albert was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and the American Legion Mercer Post 159. He owned Otter Creek Beagles and belonged to the Sharpsville Beagle Club serving as president for many years. An outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
Al loved his family immensely and enjoyed time shared with them. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
On June 6, 1958 he married the former Betty Joan Morrison, who survives at the residence.
"Pa," as he was affectionately known by his family, is also survived by: one daughter, Linda Sue Opitz and her husband, Gordon Keith Opitz, Gibsonia; and two grandchildren, Kyle Albert Opitz, Gibsonia, and Kelley Alene Prentice and her husband Ryan Prentice, Pittsburgh.
